A Conversation About Corporate Social Responsibility and Business ...

Yesterday?Elodie Grant-Goodey and Mandeep Gill from BP spoke to?my London class about corporate social responsibility (CSR) and business ethics.? Ms. Grant-Goodey is the Head of Societal Issues and Relationships, Group Strategy and Policy for BP, and Mr. Gill is BP?s Group Ethics & Compliance Director.? We talked about the various ?external drivers? that BP considers when making business related decisions, how?BP teaches employees about the requirements of the company?s code of conduct, and the?different parts of?BP?s CSR program.? The students in my class asked excellent questions about?how BP goes about implementing its business ethics and CSR programs and how?management makes decisions about what countries in which?BP does business.? We also had a good conversation about BP?s new human rights policy.
