Obama urges N. Korea to "pursue peace"

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) ? In a direct challenge to North Korean leaders, President Barack Obama implored them "to have the courage to pursue peace" while warning of the wrath of the world if they don't. Failure, he said, would mean a future without dignity, respect or hope for its people.

Obama stood by his pledge for a globe without nuclear weapons, declaring flatly that the United States has more than it needs and can cut its arsenal without weakening its security or that of its allies. That assessment put him on a collision course with congressional Republicans who say any significant cuts would undermine the U.S. ability to deter aggression.

In unusually personal terms, Obama said he spoke of his wish for further nuclear reductions as the president of the only nation ever to use nuclear weapons, as a commander whose country's nuclear codes are never far from his side, and as a protective father eager to erase the threat of nuclear annihilation.

Obama and other world leaders are in Seoul for a major international nuclear security summit. Obama plans to meet on the sidelines of the summit with several heads of government, including Russian and Chinese leaders.

Obama spoke most directly to North Korea's leaders, saying the internationally isolated country needs to change its ways because continuing down the same path will lead to "more broken dreams" and "more isolation." His blunt remarks came a day after he visited the Demilitarized Zone between North and South Korea and described the experience as akin to witnessing a "time warp" of despair.

"By now it should be clear," he said. "Your provocations and pursuit of nuclear weapons have not achieved the security you seek, they have undermined it. Instead of the dignity you desire, you are more isolated."

The nuclear summit unfolded as North Korea prepared for an announced satellite launch next month that the United States says amounts to a test of its rocketry.

As Obama spoke of peace, tensions rose in the Korean peninsula. Seoul warned it might shoot down the North Korean rocket if it violates South Korean territory.

Speaking at Hankuk University, Obama said that the international community has made progress in reducing the threat of nuclear material but says "we're under no illusions."

"Even as we have more work to do, we can already say with confidence that we have more nuclear weapons than we need," he said. "I firmly believe that we can ensure the security of the United States and our allies, maintain a strong deterrent against any threat, and still pursue further reductions in our nuclear arsenal."

Obama also reiterated his warning to Iran, which the U.S. and its allies contend is defying its international obligations by pursuing an illicit nuclear program. Obama said he would discuss Iran in meetings later in the day with the leaders of Russia and China.

"Iran's leaders must understand that there is no escaping the choice before it. Iran must act with the seriousness and sense of urgency that this moment demands," Obama said. "Iran must meet its obligations."

Facing down Iran and North Korea, Obama said a "new international norm" was emerging to deal with the two nations' intransigence. "Treaties are binding. Rules will be enforced. And violations will have consequences," Obama said. "Because we refuse to consign ourselves to a future where more and more regimes possess the world's most deadly weapons."

Obama said the U.S. was also moving forward with Russia to eliminate enough plutonium for about 17,000 nuclear weapons and turn it into electricity. And he heralded an earlier agreement with Russia to reduce nuclear arsenals under the New START Treaty, which Obama called "the most comprehensive arms control agreement in nearly two decades."

"When we're done, we'll have cut American and Russian deployed nuclear warheads to their lowest levels since the 1950s," he said.

Obama also prodded Russia in a new way, saying he would seek discussions with Moscow on an unprecedented front: reducing not only strategic nuclear warheads, but also tactical weapons and warheads in reserve. He said he planned to discuss that proposition with Putin when they meet in May.

Obama was to meet later Monday with outgoing Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. Former leader Vladimir Putin returns to the presidency later this spring after winning an election held earlier this year.

Michigan's steadier job growth reason for optimism

LANSING, Mich. (AP) ? Michigan has regained more than 151,000 jobs since the number of working residents fell to a recessionary low in mid-2009, a steady climb that began under Democratic Gov. Jennifer Granholm and has continued under Republican Gov. Rick Snyder.

Still, even as the state has seen its unemployment rate drop from a peak of 14.2 percent in August 2009 to 9 percent in January, economists say Michigan still has a long way to go to recover the 857,000 jobs lost between the April 2000 employment peak ? when the jobless rate was just 3.4 percent ? and the trough the state hit two years ago. As of January, over 700,000 remained unrecovered.

Yet the sense is growing that Michigan ? finally ? may be over the decade-long slump that Snyder says left residents divided and far too discouraged about the state's advantages and ability to recover. Michigan residents are giving both the Republican governor and Democratic President Barack Obama higher job approval ratings as the economic climate improves. But a sense of caution remains.

"We have been busy reinventing Michigan, breaking some bad habits of the past and embracing new opportunities for our future," Snyder told German company officials during a weeklong trade trip that resulted in a German orchid grower announcing it would open a 30,000-square-foot facility in Kalamazoo. "To those of you looking to expand your global presence or enter the North American market, Michigan is the place to be."

Rick Waclawek, director of the state's Bureau of Labor Market Information and Strategic Initiatives, has followed the long slump and slow recovery.

"We've been able to increase our employment after nine or 10 years where we were losing employment in Michigan," he said. "As far as job growth, we are one of the leaders in the nation, on a percentage basis."

He still sees areas of concern. Although the February unemployment rate, due out Wednesday, could continue the steady improvement the state has seen over the past four months, the percentage of discouraged workers or those working only part-time when they want to work full-time averaged 18.3 percent in Michigan in 2011, according to the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics.

"There's still that nagging unemployment level, particularly the long-term unemployed," Waclawek said. "That's probably the thing we need to be focused on, to make sure that we develop some (training) opportunities, jobs for the long-term unemployed."

To help students and workers find out information about careers, educational and training opportunities and job openings, Snyder launched the Pure Michigan Talent Connect website in early December. The site is intended to give employers and jobseekers a place to find each other and allow workers to assess their skills and connect with mentors and internships.

The governor wants lawmakers to approve self-employment assistance that would give benefits to unemployed workers who are setting up their own businesses rather than requiring them to pursue job opportunities in order to qualify.

Snyder also has proposed spending $15 million starting Oct. 1 to provide job training for 15- to 29-year-olds and ex-offenders in cities with the most crime to get the chronically unemployed back to work.

"Obviously, you can't fill every job, because there will always be openings," Snyder said when he unveiled his plan for "growing talent" late last year. "But if you start saying, 'Can we cut that number in half?' that would drop the unemployment rate by a whole percentage point. And that's a lot of jobs and major improvement."

The biggest driver of Michigan's resurgence has been the auto industry. Ever since General Motors Co. and Chrysler Group emerged from managed bankruptcies in 2009, they've been on an upward swing, allowing the state in 2010 to add more manufacturing jobs than it lost for the first time since 1999. GM even won back the title of the world's No. 1 automaker from competitor Toyota Motor Co., after Toyota had to slow production last year after an earthquake and tsunami struck northern Japan.

The improvement has spread into other sectors, giving Michigan its lowest unemployment rate in more than three years.

"When manufacturing goes up ... it puts more money back into the economy," Waclawek said.

Not every sector has grown. Local governments and school districts have shed thousands of jobs as tight tax revenues have led to layoffs. Michigan has been among states with the largest government job losses since June 2009.

And its jobless rate has dropped in part because jobless workers have become discouraged and either moved away, headed back to school or otherwise quit looking for work. Waclawek says it's almost impossible to track where those former workers have gone.

Still, the trend is hopeful. Michigan's January jobless rate was lower than 10 other states and the District of Columbia, coming in nearly 4 percentage points below nation-leading Nevada's rate of 12.7 percent and well below rates in California and North Carolina. It's slowly growing closer to the national rate of 8.3 percent, and has seen a decline of 5 percentage points since the end of the national recession in mid-2009.

University of Michigan economist George Fulton forecasts Michigan will add about 26,000 net jobs this year and 28,500 in 2013 before seeing greater growth of 46,800 jobs in 2014. That's slower than the net 63,500 jobs the state added in 2011, but Fulton said it's still reason for optimism.

"Now that the darkest days are in the books, much of today's news is positive," Fulton told state officials in January.

Private Investors, Angel Business Capital and Why You Need Them

Private investors, angel business capital or even funding by venture capitalists may seem like some sort of boon to your new venture business. But you have to be careful while coping with them and weigh carefully the pros and cons with the entire agreement. This is important. A lot of times, enterprisers are unable to give angel investors the high rates involving return that they require, resulting in their organization getting closed all the way down.

Say Hello To Angel Investors

If you don?t know what I?m referring to, let me introduce you to non-public angel investors. There are several groups of private angel investors some of them invest passively, which means after they provide funding to your company, they assume a very inactive role in the every day workings of your organization. Most times, these inactive angel investors are professionals in their own right, in various grounds like medicine, legislations etc and don?t genuinely have prior entrepreneurial expertise. They are merely trying to make a good purchase.

But there is another class of angel investors who take an energetic hand in the company that they back. They might be looking for an opportunity to put the multilevel and influence they have acquired over the years, to good use, or they could also want to experience the buzz of setting up a business again, using the brand new entrepreneur as their suggests. For these types of private investors, angel working capital loans isn?t the only thing on the plate, their schedule usually involves the seat in the table of directors as well as having a say from the management of the company.

There are other angel investors taking on the role associated with mentor. This last type of angels are not just referred to as private angel investors, but Super angels because they currently have large sums of money saved and are willing to invest it. They can invest up to million dollars in a single deal! What ever be the category of angel, you will need to realize that they all have personal wealth of their own, which can be what distinguishes these from venture capital businesses.

A Word Of Advice

When you approach private investors, you need to work out the amount of angel enterprise capital that you will need. Do keep in mind that this should not only be an arbitrary amount. This needs to be a calculated amount. Plus, you have to be in a position to show exactly why you will want the money ? a detailed account of how you need to allot the cash is the order of the day.

In case you are in need of several million bucks and are confident in your capability to provide a good pace of return about the money, then you really should in fact, approach a venture capital firm, simply because private angel investors, who like to invest close to property, don?t generally have that type of money at the ready. An angel investor can be what exactly your business needs, although do be careful inside your dealings with keep on investing; angel business capital won?t come easy.

Focus on Woods shifts to injury

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) ? Three times in talking about his left Achilles tendon, Tiger Woods said he was "good to go."

How good?

Woods said it felt the same as it did before he had to withdraw midway through the final round at Doral two weeks ago, back when his health was not a popular topic. He had closed with a 62 in the Honda Classic. His game was on an upward trend, minus the winning.

How long can he go?

Not even Woods can answer that question.

One week after tightness in his Achilles caused him to grimace in pain, limp and then pull out after 11 holes at a World Golf Championship, Woods teed it up at Augusta National for a practice round. Turns out it was a mild strain, and a few days of treatment had him back to feeling normal.

Then, he played a two-day exhibition at Lake Nona, followed by the pro-am Wednesday at Bay Hill. He begins the Arnold Palmer Invitational on Thursday, and likely will wind up playing eight straight days.

Could the Achilles flare up again on Thursday at Bay Hill? Thursday at the Masters?

"It could," Woods said. "But hopefully, it won't."

The next step starts at Bay Hill, on a course where he has won six times. Woods is playing Thursday morning alongside Ernie Els, who witnessed his 62 at the Honda Classic, and Hunter Mahan, with whom he shares a swing coach.

Since his return to golf after the crisis in his private life, Woods withdrew from The Players Championship in 2010 with a neck injury, though he didn't miss any time. Then, he spoke of a "minor injury" to his left leg suffered in the third round of the 2011 Masters that caused him to miss Quail Hollow. He returned at The Players Championship, felt problems in his left Achilles tendon on the opening tee shot and withdrew nine holes and 42 shots later.

He wound up missing three months, including two majors.

Woods had his third WD in as many years at Doral. In the previous 14 years on the PGA Tour, he had withdrawn from tournaments only twice ? at Riviera in 2005 when he had the flu, and at Pebble Beach in 1998 when he chose not to return seven months later to complete the rain-plagued tournament.

"It was just tight when I was warming up," Woods said about Doral. "And I did my normal warm-up routine in the gym and everything, and everything was fine. I got to the range, started warming up, started getting tight. And as I said before, I've been through this before. I recognize the signs."

What gave him a sense of calm about the most recent calamity is having been down this road before.

"I've had tightness before, but not to that extent," Woods said. "But treatment afterwards always get it right back to where it should be. And that's one of the reasons why I wasn't really that concerned about it, that I would come back and play these events."

Injuries have been such a big topic recently that Woods caused a stir in his pro-am when he backed off a tee shot on the par-5 sixth hole. He paced behind the ball, grabbed at his lower back and stretched. Then, he took his hand off the club before finishing his swing, though the ball went long and straight.

The concern didn't last long.

Turns out it was a camera click that made Woods flinch.

"I guess one of the so-called professional photographers took a picture right in the middle of my downswing," Woods said. "I stopped it, and then felt a pretty good twinge in my back. Walked it off and then tried to hit one down there. Hit it in the fairway, but didn't feel very good. But after a couple of holes, it loosened up. And I'm good to go now."

Woods has never missed Bay Hill except for when he was returning from the crisis in his personal life in 2010. It typically is his final tuneup before the Masters, where he is a four-time champion.

Another four-time Augusta winner ? and the tournament host at Bay Hill ? is curious to see if Woods has the game for the first major.

"I think that to win, you have to be on top of your game at Augusta, and there's no question about that," Palmer said. "And so Tiger will have to be. Does it make it more likely that he'll win there? Only in that he will probably work very hard to get his game ... in shape to win. There's certainly that possibility. Will he win? I don't know.

"I'm not sure that I could say that he's in that good of shape right now, but I know he's working for it."

Martin Laird is the defending champion at Bay Hill, where he closed with a 75 for a one-shot win. The field is stronger than expected, with Phil Mickelson, Doral winner Justin Rose, FedEx Cup champion Bill Haas and Graeme McDowell.

Except for leaving Doral early, Woods has shown ample signs that his game is close, at least tee-to-green. He has gone into the back nine with a chance to win at three tournaments this year ? Abu Dhabi, Pebble Beach and Honda.

The worst statistic for Woods is putting ? he is 39th, which is not bad. The trouble has been distance control, which Woods showed on the par-3 seventh. He stared down a shot, only to slump his shoulders when the ball landed some 40 feet long.

Woods attributes that to hitting the ball flush.

"I'm hitting the ball with less curve," he said. "Hence, it's spending most of its energy going forward, and just the fact that I'm transferring the energy so much more efficiently than I used to."

These are the things Woods will need to get sorted out at Bay Hill, and at the Masters. He was getting annoyed at questions about his putting a month ago. More irritating have been questions about a book written by former swing coach Hank Haney, which goes on sale Tuesday. Copies of the book are being mailed this week to most media, though Woods didn't get any questions about it Wednesday.

Now it's about his health.

All About World of Warcraft Addiction | All About Health

It may be hard to believe but there are many players who are victims of World of Warcraft addiction. There are facts supporting this relatively new addiction including a website set up just for sufferers to share support. The website is dubbed WOWDetox and currently has 32,620 posts from users who found themselves unable to play World of Warcraft in a sensible manner without going over board.

There have been many stories both substantiated and rumored regarding the horrific effects on people who have developed this addiction. The most common reported problems with having a World of Warcraft addiction is how playing this game can completely take over a person?s life. Families, jobs, school, and health are all compromised in favor of playing and excelling at World of Warcraft.

There have been at least 2 game related deaths with this problem. One of the deaths involved a child who was neglected while her parents were in a daze of playing the game. Couples have divorced over this game even. People have been fired from jobs as well. Really avid players actually forget to eat while being so consumed with playing this game. It is estimated that 10 ? 40 percent of the players of World of Warcraft are addicted to the game in some sense.

While it may seem less harmful, having a World of Warcraft addiction is just as serious as having a gambling, drinking or drug addiction problem. Anyone who is sitting and playing this, or any other game, for 10 ? 12 hours a day or more, needs professional help for their issue. It is reported that China has already implemented a required fatigue system in their games. This is called an Anti-online game system. It works by cutting the benefits gained in the game after 3 hours of play by slowing down the ability of obtaining new levels or earn rewards. It can slow to 50 percent after 3 hours and all the way down to 0 after 5 hours of non-stop game playing.

One good way you can tell if you have a World of Warcraft addiction is to ask someone who is not involved in the game if you seem to be addicted and having an issue. If you fear what their answer will be you most likely already know you have a problem. Some other symptoms include having no interest in your family, friends, job, school, health, or anything else of importance outside the game.

Seemingly one reason certain people get so totally involved in World of Warcraft is that it allows them to be something they are not in real life. In the game ordinary people can become leaders or very strong fighters. They can do extraordinary things that they would never be capable of performing in the real world. They prefer to be in this imaginary realm where they can act like it is their ?real? world. If this is something you are doing you need to turn off your computer, and seek help as soon as possible.

FDA panel backs Glaxo drug for rare cancer

(AP) ? A panel of cancer experts rejected an experimental Merck drug for a rare form of cancer on Tuesday while recommending approval of a GlaxoSmithKline treatment for the same disease. Neither drug appears to help patients live longer, but panelists said Glaxo's Votrient helped delay tumor growth in the most vulnerable patients.

The FDA panel reviewed the two drugs submitted to treat sarcoma, a rare class of tumors that form in the fat, muscles and bone in the limbs and abdomen. An estimated 11,000 people in the U.S. were diagnosed with the soft tissue cancer in 2011 and 3,900 died from the disease, according to the National Cancer Institute.

Many cancer drugs approved by the FDA do not actually extend survival, but instead slow the growth of tumors or their spread to other parts of the body. In recent years, cancer experts have debated the significance of such results, particularly given the potentially dangerous side effects.

The panel voted 11-2 that the benefits of Glaxo's pill Votrient outweighed its risks, noting there are few other treatment options for patients.

"There are no drugs approved by the FDA specifically for this indication and that's what drove my decision to vote yes," said Dr. Mikkael Sekeres of the Cleveland Clinic.

GlaxoSmithKline plc, based in the U.K., studied Votrient in sarcoma patients whose cancer has spread to other parts of the body after unsuccessful treatment with chemotherapy drugs, the standard treatment for the disease. Such patients usually survive only a year to 18 months.

While patients taking Votrient didn't live longer than those taking chemotherapy alone, they did see a three-month delay in growth of their tumors, on average. Some patients experienced an even longer delay, which panelists said supported the drug's benefit.

"I feel the effect is marginal but there does appear to be a group of patients who have benefited from this for longer periods of time," said panel chair Dr. Wyndham Wilson of the National Cancer Institute.

The panel saw less potential for Merck's ridaforolimus, which the company acquired through Ariad Pharmaceuticals Inc. The group voted 13-1 against the drug, saying its significant side effects ? which affected 60 percent of patients ? outweighed its benefits.

Merck & Co. Inc. of Whitehouse Station, N.J., submitted the drug as a maintenance therapy, meaning it would be used to help repress sarcoma of the bone and tissue in patients whose cancer is already in remission. Since such patients are healthier than patients with active disease, panelists said they wanted to see a more dramatic benefit to justify putting patients on a drug with major side effects. The FDA has only approved a handful of cancer drugs for maintenance use.

Company trials showed no survival benefit and a meager seven-week delay in disease progression compared with patients not taking the drug. Panelists were also troubled by the high rate of side effects in patients, which led 14 percent to drop out of the study. Side effects included lung irritation, kidney failure and high blood pressure

"I didn't see anything that would indicate it should be recommended based on the information we have today," said Lee Helman of the National Cancer Institute.

The FDA is scheduled to make a decision on Glaxo's drug by May 6 and Merck's drug by June 5.

The ?Twitter Mafia? Poised to be Silicon Valley?s Next Great Network

birdsIn middle school, my teacher assigned a book by Mario Puzo called "The Godfather." Yes, it was pretty epic. From that work of art, mass audiences were introduced to Don Corleone and eventually its derivatives Goodfellas, Bugsy, Capone, Casino, Heat, The Departed, and scores of other pieces that romanticized the notion of organized crime across the globe, a world of big bosses, willing soldiers, and internal codes of helping out each other, from family to family.

Lil Wayne Brings His YMCMB Family To SXSW

Mystikal, Birdman, Cory Gunz and others help Weezy kick off his Mountain Dew partnership in Austin.

YMCMB. Trukfit. DeWeezy. And repeat. When Lil Wayne took over the Austin Music Hall for his SXSW show in Texas on Thursday night, the rapper-turned-skateboarder had the venue draped in banners upon banners, shouting out his team, his new clothing line and his new partnership with Mountain Dew.

Earlier in the day, Wayne invited his pro skateboard friends — including Paul Rodriguez and Theotis Beasley — to get their grind on on the top floor of the venue while the Mountain Dew-sponsored show was being prepped. By showtime later that night, the boys were all freshly prepped for their closing appearance at the concert.

(For photos from the concert, click here.)

And while Wayne saved his skateboard family to wrap the night, his YMCMB family members came out to open the show and made brief appearances throughout his set. U.K. singer Jay Sean hit the stage early, along with Lil Chuckee and recent Cash Money signee Mystikal, who gave the crowd a taste of his hits including "Here I Go" and "Shake Ya Ass."

Wayne finally hit the stage around 12:30 a.m., decked out in his Trukfit gear, with skateboard in hand, bringing a burst of energy for fans who'd already started a few "Weezy" chants in anticipation of his performance. He kicked things off with "I'm Goin' In" and "A Milli," with head banging and dreads flying everywhere.

During his one-hour set, Wayne gave the crowd some words of inspiration on falling and getting back up. "Life is like skateboarding," he said. He later dropped another one-liner, "It's not what you do, it's how you do it," admitting to the crowd that they'd just participated in a commercial shoot for his new DeWeezy campaign with Mountain Dew.

With that out of the way, there were still plenty of hits left to go around, including "She Will" and "Blunt Blowin'," plus a few more guest appearances. Drake, Nicki Minaj and Tyga were all noticeably absent from the show, but after giving them a shout-out, Wayne brought out a few more YMCMB members including Shanell, Bow Wow, Gudda Gudda, Mack Maine and Birdman, who performed his single "Y.U. Mad."

Despite Drake's absence, Wayne delivered his verse on "The Motto" and saved Tha Carter IV single "6 Foot, 7 Foot" for the finale. Maybe the most surprising cameo of the night came from rapper Cory Gunz, who was recently arrested for gun possession. The young Gunz joined Wayne and his crew of pro skateboarders onstage to assist on the track before calling it a night.

Glittering Jewels of Messier 9

ScienceDaily (Mar. 16, 2012) ? The NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope has produced the so far most detailed image so far of Messier 9, a globular star cluster located close to the centre of the galaxy. This ball of stars is too faint to see with the naked eye, yet Hubble can see over 250 000 individual stars shining in it.

Messier 9 is a globular cluster, a roughly spherical swarm of stars that lies around 25 000 light-years from Earth, near the centre of the Milky Way, so close that the gravitational forces from the galactic centre pull it slightly out of shape.

Globular clusters are thought to harbour some of the oldest stars in our galaxy, born when the Universe was just a small fraction of its current age. As well as being far older than the Sun -- around twice its age -- the stars of Messier 9 also have a markedly different composition, and are enriched with far fewer heavier elements than the Sun.

In particular, the elements crucial to life on Earth, like oxygen and carbon, and the iron that makes up our planet's core, are very scarce in Messier 9 and clusters like it. This is because the Universe's heavier elements were gradually formed in the cores of stars, and in supernova explosions. When the stars of Messier 9 formed, there were far smaller quantities of these elements in existence.

Messier 9, as its name suggests, was discovered by the great French astronomer Charles Messier in 1764. Even through the most advanced telescopes of the day, none of the stars in the cluster could be seen individually. Messier, seeing only a faint smudge, therefore classified the object as a nebula -- or "cloud" in Latin. It was only later in the 18th century that astronomers, most notably William Herschel, began to spot stars within the cluster.

The contrast between Messier's equipment and the tools at the disposal of today's astronomers is stark. Hubble's image, the highest resolution image yet made of Messier 9, is able to resolve individual stars, right into the crowded centre of the cluster. Over 250 000 of them are neatly focused on the detector of Hubble's Advanced Camera for Surveys, in an image which covers an area no bigger than the size of the head of a pin held at arm's length. As well as showing the individual stars, Hubble's image clearly shows the different colours of the stars. A star's colour is directly related to its temperature -- counter-intuitively, perhaps, the redder it is, the cooler it is; and the bluer it is, the hotter. The wide range of stellar temperatures here is clearly displayed by the broad palette of colours visible in Hubble's image of Messier 9.

Messier 9's neighbourhood is interesting too, and is marked by two vast and dark nebulae. These pitch-black clouds of interstellar dust are known as Barnard 259 (to the south-east of Messier 9) and Barnard 64 (to the west), and are clearly visible in wide-field images of the cluster.

The GameCube is the first Nintendo video game system to use a disc-based medium rather than cartridges for its games. Moving the software to disc media generally means lower development costs for the publishers, which, in turn, trickles down to the consumer not only in price, but also in availability and quality, as it's then easier to try out untested game ideas (Pikmin). While most other systems likewise have their games stored on discs, the GameCube's 3-inch format is smaller than everyone else's, and is so designed to fit in a shirt pocket as much as to deter would-be software pirates.Though it looks like a toy, don't be fooled: the Nintendo GameCube is a powerful video game console that rightly deserves its place among the other next-generation game systems. In fact, its playful, appealing design and small size (the unit is a not-quite-cubed 6 inches) aren't the only features that set it apart from the others. For starters, Nintendo has quite clearly made this a game-only machine

  • The processor creates 6 to 12 million ploygons per second -- no more slowdowns in the middle of the game

Discover The Role Of Search Engine Marketing Consultant Today ...

Home ? Internet marketing

Written By: Reed Slidell?on?March 13, 2012 4 Comments

A search engine marketing consultant is a person who can optimize your site so your business can enjoy greater clientele. Some proprietors think it best to hire a search engine optimization (SEO) expert while others think they can do the work themselves. After all, there are those who learn the basics of SEO, Google places and do fine with just that. In this article, let?s talk about the pros and cons of employing a search engine specialist to help with your venture.

Perhaps the best thing about outsourcing a true SEO consultant is you are assured of his or her expertise. The person must have had years of experience and can tell which initiatives would likely succeed on the type of business you have the moment he or she steps in. It surely makes a difference when someone hits the ground running. While an in-house member might know of SEO, he or she will have a hard time beating this level of proficiency unless he or she has been concentrating on SEO alone for the past years.

Paying a search engine marketing consultant also decreases the risks you?ve got to take in business operation. She or he can not only decide an effective system to get more traffic but also estimate the markers you can reach at particular periods.

Another benefit of employing a guru in enhancing your SEO services company web site is you can exploit him or her to advance the awareness of your in-house team. She can serve as a mentor that everybody can learn from. Isn?t it wonderful that while your business is getting more and more clients, your team is learning more too? This may fasten your future independence because once your own people already know what to do, you won?t have a need for the employed guns.

But just like other things, employing the aid of a search engine marketing company comes with some downsides too. One, it will require you to invest more money. As you know, nothing comes free these days. Usually, you?ve got to pay thousands of dollars to hire an SEO expert. If their efforts do not yield fast results and your business is cash-constrained, you could have a difficult time keeping right up with the monetary demands of their service. But if you can afford the investment and you are working with a credible consultant, you are likely not to regret the extra cost.

Perhaps another disadvantage of hiring a search engine marketing consultant is the potential impact on the morale of the people you?re working with. It?s highly possible that they are already aware of SEO and can perform some of its basics. So, getting an outsider might give them the impression that you do not trust their skills enough, or worse, that you don?t appreciate your own people. Of course, you can mitigate this by first assuring them that you value their efforts. Also, you can tell them that one of the reasons why you are taking-in a specialist is to train them. Nothing beats learning from an expert, right? Yes, it will benefit the company-but? not without personally benefiting each individual first.

Is 'Bachelor' Ben still with his 'forever' fiancee?

Nick Ray / ABC

Ben proposed to Courtney in "The Bachelor" finale ... but what did they think after watching the show?

By Natalie Finn, E! Online

All this time, you've been watching Ben Flajnik and Courtney Robertson do their thing on "The Bachelor."

Well, guess what? So have they.

Sure enough, her negative vibes on the show "led to Courtney and I not talking for a period of time.... We were essentially broken up," Ben admitted tonight on "The Bachelor: After the Final Rose" special.

So, does that explain why he was seemingly photographed kissing another girl recently? Why was Courtney trying on wedding dresses? But, most importantly, are Ben and Courtney a couple now?!

First of all, Ben swears he hasn't "kissed or hooked up" with another woman or otherwise cheated on Courtney.

"On my father's grave," he promised as he insisted that he was not seen kissing other girls and that the tabloid photos were of him with "friends from San Francisco" or "past photos."

Interestingly, Ben admitted that Courtney went out to try on wedding dresses in public right when the negative stories about him started making the rounds. "Just to (mess) with people?" inquired host Chris Harrison. "You guys clearly are very weird."

But charmingly weird enough to work out?

"Yes, we're together ... I think," Courtney sniffled when she was in the hot seat, before the tears started to flow and she admitted that she didn't know what was happening.

"I don't really know," she continued. "I know how I feel about him, and that I love him. I'm not ready to just turn my back on him. So ... I'm willing to try."

Then again, Courtney said that Ben was supportive of her when the show first premiered -- "and then he abandoned me."

"He didn't send flowers, a card or anything" on Valentine's Day, she recalled, adding jokingly, "He didn't even send carnations!" (Another "Sex and the City" joke to go with her vows, FYI.)

There were times "I didn't leave the house, I just laid there and I cried," Courtney said sadly, noting how important trust is to her.

Judging by what she said on her own, we imagine that she was confused when Ben came back out, sat down beside her, and told Harrison, "We're engaged, we're in a good place. Now that the main part of the show and the negativity is gone, it can only get better."

Huh?

"It hasn't been an easy ride," Ben said in the understatement of the night. "I want to apologize to her, in front of everyone, for not standing by you throughout this entire journey...I messed up in that regard, as an engaged couple and as the man, I feel I should have stayed with you the entire way instead of taking steps back and taking time apart.

"That was my coping mechanism," he said to Courtney, "but you know that's not how I operate in real life. We're about to start 'real life.'"

But before "real life" could begin, Ben and Courtney got to relive their televised proposal in all its romantic Swiss glory.

Those feelings "never left," Ben said. "There was never anything wrong with us. It was everything that surrounded us.... That beautiful moment has just been soiled by all of this. That's where there have been uncertainties. It means as much to us, but nobody gets that."

He said that he "absolutely" feels the same way about Courtney as he did on the day he proposed. And when Chris pulled what was Courtney's ring out of his pocket to test whether they were really engaged or not, Ben slipped it back on her finger.

"Yeah, I do," Ben said when Chris asked if this relationship will end in a wedding.
