Lewis Hamilton believes Fernando Alonso is more accurate than Sebastian Vettel ? Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton has said that Fernando Alonso of Ferrari is more accurate than Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull Racing but insisted that the veteran German driver has a competitive edge because of his car.
Vettel is currently leading the drivers? championship with 240 points and has earned a lead of 13 points over Alonso after claiming his fourth consecutive victory in the preceding race.
However, Hamilton believes that the Spaniard is a better driver than the defending champion as he has performed tremendously well in the season so far even with an uncompetitive car.
?For me, Fernando is more accurate,? Hamilton is quoted by British newspapers. ?He (Alonso) hits all apexes. He (Vettel) goes off and he still goes quickest. And I think holy sh*t, I couldn?t do that lap even if I was on limit. His car is just that far ahead of everyone else?s.?
Besides, he said that Red Bull have dominated because they have got the most competent car in the field which has been developed by the genius engineer, Adrian Newey who is presently working as the chief technical officer in the Milton Keynes based squad.
?They?ve done something,? he insisted. ?The car doesn?t look any different but all of sudden there?s gap.?I have my own opinion and I know how it is but that just confirms it when you miss all those corners. But you still have to do job with it and he does.?
In addition, he said that he is not aiming to win the championship title as he has lost some crucial points after struggling with some technical issues in last few races. Nevertheless, he said that he is still looking forward to perform well in the remaining three grands prix of the ongoing season so as to be able to help his team in securing a good position in the constructors? championship.
At present, the Woking based team is standing at 3rd place in the constructors? standings with 306 points. Additionally, they are ahead of Lotus and are behind their main rival, Ferrari.
