Automotive Eye Candy + Quaint Suburbia = San Marino Motor Classic

San Marino Classic

?

We love glitzy, international classic car shows like Pebble Beach and Villa d'Este just as much as the next nostalgic gearhead, but we also dig the smaller events at locales like Amelia Island and Hilton Head. And then there's the San Marino Motor Classic, an even tinier gathering that features surprisingly stunning cars, despite a scant two year track record.?

?

The homegrown concours' third appearance will be on the grassy lawns of Lacy Park, a palm tree-lined oasis nestled in the posh enclave of San Marino, California, on Sunday, June 9th-- tomorrow afternoon-- and last minute would-be attendees can still order $25 tickets online, or pay $30 at the door.

?

If the highlights from last year are any indication (among them Tony Vincent's 1939 Delage D8-120 Cabriolet, Peter & Merle Mullins' 1930 Bugatti Type 46, and Fred Lax's 1930 Cadillac Model 452 V16 Roadster), 2013's show promises plenty of automotive beauty and the sort of laid back mood you could only encounter at neighborhood events in car-drenched Southern California.
